What is your job and who do you work for?
Currently work training to be an electrician. I work for Akon Electrical services based out in Henderson

What were you doing before NZMA?
Studying.

How did you hear about NZMA?
Saw Billboards around Auckland, for example at bus stops.

What made you decide to do your programme at NZMA?
Always wanted to be an electrician so has been a passion of mine for a long time.

What did you enjoy most about your programme?
Loved the practical side of the course, being able to actually do a number of our theory studies.

What did you learn on the programme, which helped your journey into work?
A lot of theory, liked the wiring boards as an example.

What did the Careers team do to help you move into your first job?
Assisted with CV’s as well as Employer meetings ie. Employers coming to the campus.

What is your job and who do you work for?
Currently work training to be an electrician. I work for Akon Electrical services based out in Henderson.

Could you please describe something you enjoy about your job?
No 2 days are the same, also the work is busy and varied due to different projects.

What project are you currently working on?
Akon Electrical have been subcontracted by NZ Strong Construction to do electrical work on Auckland Airport’s new Air Control Tower located on Leonard Isitt Drive.

What are your long term career goals?
To own my own small Electrical business.
