    If you’re looking for a new career path, there are plenty of exciting and growing industries looking for great people – creative industries, IT, tourism, hospitality, trades and many more – but you need specialist skills to qualify.

    That’s where we can help. We work in partnership with industry leaders to ensure our programmes will equip you with the skills and knowledge to take you into the future.

    At UP Education hands-on training is a key part of our programmes – you can develop your skills in our specialist campus facilities then practice them in the workplace through internships with our industry partners.

    Our campuses across New Zealand are all ranked Category 1 – the highest accreditation awarded to training providers, which ensures you learn the practical skills you need, to land the job you want.

  • College registration and qualification information

    UP Education’s vocational and higher learning division, operates five Category 1, registered Private Training Establishments (PTEs).

    The six registered PTEs in New Education Group are:

    • New Zealand Management Academies (NZMA)
    • North Shore International Academy (NSIA)
    • New Zealand College of Massage (NZCM)
    • New Zealand Institute of Sport (NZIS)
    • New Zealand School of Tourism (NZST)
    • Yoobee Colleges Ltd

    Each of the six PTEs awards its own qualifications. The PTEs have a number of colleges which operate in the marketplace, and qualifications from each college are awarded as follows:

    • NZMA is a Category 1 provider, and as the registered PTE, awards all of the qualifications offered by NZMA and Academy NZ
    • NSIA is a Category 1 provider, and as the registered PTE, awards all of the qualifications offered by NSIA
    • The New Zealand College of Massage (NZCM) is a Category 3 provider, and as the registered PTE, awards all of the qualifications offered by NZCM
    • New Zealand Institute of Sport (NZIS) is a Category 1 provider, and as the registered PTE, awards all of the qualifications offered by NZIS
    • New Zealand School of Tourism (NZST) is a Category 1 provider, and as the registered PTE, awards all of the qualifications offered by NZST, Cut Above Academy and Elite School of Beauty & Spa
    • Yoobee Colleges Ltd is a Category 1 provider, and as the registered PTE, awards all of the qualifications offered by Yoobee Colleges

    Fit for industry

    Each of our campuses is designed to reflect the specific industry environments found in the workplace, from training bars, restaurants and commercial kitchens, to on-site retail shops and construction workshops.

    As an example, one campus has 3D graphics suites, green screen rooms and a complete production complex for film and television. Another boasts a Boeing 747 service trainer and a full Boeing 737 aircraft cabin trainer. It’s about taking you right to the heart of your chosen industry.

    To help launch you into the right career, employment skills are embedded in our courses every step of the way. Opportunities for real-life work experience are an important part of many of our courses, and some include paid internships.

      Thanks to New Zealand School of Tourism’s world-class aviation training, Etevihe has a job that’s really taking her places. After making the decision to follow her passion in 2015, Etevihe gained a Certificate in Airline, Travel & Tourism, and a Certificate in International Flight Attending.

    • Gurdip Singh (Deep)


      Deep says studying the Yoobee Digital Media course Level 5 was the best decision of his life.  He loved it so much he was admitted directly into Advanced 3D Graphics Level 7. Working hard and honing new technical skills has launched Deep’s creative flair and rich imagination that has resulted in him being awarded best Technical Artist and Best Overall Student.

    • Michael Long


      As a student from South Africa, Michael completed NZMA’s Level 5 Diploma in Professional Cookery, which saw him develop his signature style as a result of the cookery skills he learnt. He has also won gold and bronze medals at the prestigious NZChef’s National Salon.  But his greatest accolade to date is having his recipe featured in the NZChef’s textbook. Now Michael is creating masterpieces as a Demi Chef.

    • Ashleigh Scott


      A Diploma in Beauty and Spa Therapies from Elite School of Beauty & Spa Therapies began Ashleigh Scott’s journey to becoming an influential figure in Auckland’s beauty scene. After graduating in 2009, Ashleigh moved to London and began working as a specialised facialist. She opened her own clinic in 2014 upon returning to Auckland and since has already filled her space and schedule to capacity.

    • Sofia Bue


      After completing her Diploma in Production Design and Sculpting Level 5 at Cut Above Academy in 2012, Sofia went on to win the World Title in Special Effects Body Art and Makeup in 2013 (as well as 2015) and took on a role at Weta Workshop. During her time at Weta, Sofia has worked on many projects including Thunderbirds Are Go minitures and prosthetics and make-up for Ghost in the Shell.
