New Pharmacy Technician Lab at New Wellington Campus Proving Popular with Domestic and International Students

12 March 2019 –  For the first time, NZMA is delivering a face-to-face pharmacy technician programme in Wellington.  Based at the new Wellington Campus in the Wellington Railway Building, it has proven popular with all students.

The first class is now working through the programme in the new pharmacy lab, and the students are enjoying their experience so far.  Mohit Kokaria, from India, and studying the Pharmacy Technician Level 5 programme said, “This course is awesome and I am learning all the necessary skills and pharmaceutical knowledge which will ultimately help me gain a career. Our tutor teaches the course with a practical approach, and this is very useful for me to understand each course module.  I love this course and I’m proud to say I’ll soon be a Pharmacy Technician!”

All the tutors are New Zealand qualified and experienced Pharmacists, which gives students a great insight into the industry. NZMA prides itself on delivering first rate programmes, with hands-on practical experience through its programmes.

Fifteen students from New Zealand, China, India, South Korea and the Philippines are enrolled.  Not only are they enjoying the programme, but also the local cultural activities on offer as well. The students have completed an amazing race, and also been up the Wellington Cable car.  Next is their pharmacy placement!
