High quality education experiences in New Zealand: UP Education providers gain FernMark licence

UP International College, NZMA and Yoobee College of Creative Innovation – all part of the UP Education Group – have been granted the FernMark Licence – showcasing the trust and credibility of the academic offering UP Education provides to its learners.

The Silver Fern is one of New Zealand’s most recognised, long-standing, and respected national symbols. A licence to bear the FernMark is a formal government-level tick of approval that the education experience UP Education providers is aligned with New Zealand’s education regulations and national brand reputation.

“As the international symbol of New Zealand, the FernMark represents a mark of trust to consumers around the globe. Building confidence and awareness of New Zealand as an exceptional international education destination has never been more important as the sector rebuilds after the impacts of the pandemic,” says Wade Johnson, Head of International Marketing.

“Educational excellence dedicated pastoral care, and industry-leading education outcomes underpin the education we deliver across all our providers within the UP Education group. We know that studying overseas is a formative life experience for many of our learners, and we take a learner-centric approach every step of the way. It is with this focus on care, and our tailored approaches to learning that we achieve the academic excellence we are known for.”

An education provider with an approved FernMark Licence must meet the following criteria:

  • Of good character and repute.
  • A recognised Category 1 or Category 2 provider by NZQA.
  • A New Zealand education provider established by statute, or recognised by NZQA.
  • Is compliant with all New Zealand laws and relevant regulations.
  • A signatory to the Tertiary and International Learners Code of Practice.
