At our vocational and higher learning colleges, students will gain relevant experience, skills, and contacts in their chosen field of study – giving them an edge when they go on to pursue a career.
While working towards a career – especially in hands-on professions such as hospitality and tourism – real-world experience is essential. An internship is a valuable way to gain local experience and on-the-job training. Internships are a great way to consolidate classroom learning by applying it in real-world situations.
Students in the following disciplines have internship opportunities during their time at UP Education.
Travel & Management Tourism Diploma, Level 5
Students studying for a Diploma in Tourism or Travel & Management gain the final 30 credits of their qualification through a paid internship.
Diploma in Applied Hospitality Management, Level 6
Hospitality and cookery are practical, hands-on careers – so it’s essential to have relevant experience before joining the working world.
Diploma in Professional Cookery, Level 5
To get into the industry, it’s important to have relevant skills and experience, so students know they can succeed in a real kitchen.
Students working towards a Diploma in Applied Management choose to specialise in Professional Retailing, Project Management, Health Management or Procurement and Supply Chain Management. If they select the Professional Retailing strand, they will complete a nine-week, full-time internship in the retail sector.
Yoobee Colleges:School of Design
Yoobee College students can benefit from working on real projects and seeing how professional designers function. If they are working towards a Level 7 diploma, they will have the opportunity to work with a professional mentor on an internship during their course.
